The latest character for Microsoft’s Killer Instinct fighting game has been revealed and it appears to be a clone (i.e. redesign) of the existing Hisako character instead of a completely new creation. The character is called Shin Hisako, which means “New Hisako”, and is expected to arrive on both the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of the game sometime before the end of the month.

The previous new character, Killgore, was also a clone of an existing character (Fulgore) but at least one completely new character has been confirmed for the near future.

Killer Instinct is a remake of the classic 90s fighting game of the same name. This new version is exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox One console and Windows 10 devices as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative which allows for cross-play and cross-buying of content between different platforms with the same account. The game is essentially free to download but almost all of the characters need to be bought as downloadable content. One character is made free-to-play on a weekly rotational basis.
