Microsoft Surface Pro powered by Windows 8 Pro coming February 9th
It looks like Microsoft have finally set a release date for the Surface Pro! Starting February 9th, those in the US and Canada will be able to get their hands on a Surface Pro device from either retail stores or online.
“I am pleased that we are formally announcing the date of availability. Surface Windows 8 Pro will be available in the U.S. and Canada starting on Feb. 9 through all Microsoft retail stores, microsoftstore.com and at Staples and Best Buy in the U.S. as well as from a number of locations in Canada. Not only has it been fun watching the anticipation, it has been great working with such an amazing team to bring these products to life,” Microsoft’s Panos Panay stated in an official blog post. Panay is the man in charge of the Surface.
Pricing will start at $899 and will be available in 64GB and 128GB versions. Also, a Surface Pen will be included with the Surface Pro, which allows you to draw with your device, pretty cool! You can read a list of full specs for the device here.
Along with the announcement, Microsoft have also introduced a bunch of new Touch and Type Covers with new patterns.
Microsoft also said they will be expanding the market for the Surface RT to 13 new countries, these include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
