Microsoft may be looking to bring a new music creator experience to Windows 10 sometime in the future. Spotted by Music Radar, a recent job listing posted by the company is calling out for candidates who can help the company “invent incredible new music experiences for the Windows customer of tomorrow.”

The full job listing can be seen here on the Microsoft Careers Website. Microsoft is specifically looking for someone who can “build and run a high-energy engineering team in the music space with potential for impact and growth.” Other characteristics which Microsoft is looking for can be seen below.

  • You are a music lover!
  • You have solid verbal and written communication skills .
  • You have a demonstrated track record of leading engineering teams.
  • Developing talent for at least 3 years
  • You have 5+ years’ experience writing code in C, C++, C#, or other procedural languages.
  • You have an understanding of one or more of the following: digital audio workstations, music theory, digital signal processing, audio production.
  • You want to work with a talented and highly capable team.

Although the job listing could be referring to upgrades for Groove Music, the wording also points to the fact that Microsoft may want to create a program which is focused specifically on music creation. To be clear, Microsoft already hinted at a Groove Music Maker app in a video seen at the WIndows 10 Creators Update event, but nothing of this nature has yet come to fruition.

With the release of Story Remix app coming in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the company might as well soon refocus and come up with other areas in which they can assist creators in the future of Windows 10, similar to the way Apple helps music creators with Garage Band on MacOS.
