Beta testers of Microsoft Edge on iOS can finally enjoy the browser with an optimized tablet layout on the iPad. After weeks of anticipation, the new layout makes the mobile browser feel almost native and up to par with Safari on iPad.
iOS users should now be seeing the version 41.12 in the TestFlight app, complete with the usual performance improvements, and some new sign in and sign out enhancements. However, Microsoft Edge on the iPad still is still missing key features already supported by Safari, such as iOS 11 split screen, slide view, or extensions. Edge has proven to be very popular on Android, so we’re hoping Microsoft will also add support for Android tablets soon. For now, though, you can sign up to enroll in the Edge beta through Apple’s TestFlight program, and try out Edge on iPad.
