The US Microsoft Store has the unlocked Lumia 950 and 950XL back in stock

Lumia handsets have become harder to find over the past few weeks, and last time we checked the US Microsoft Store only had stock for the Lumia 550 and the AT&T Lumia 950. However, Neowin is reporting today that the unlocked version of the Lumia 950 and 950XL are now back in stock, though they now appear a bit overpriced compared to the Alcatel Idol 4S which Microsoft just started selling this week.

At $399, the unlocked Lumia 950 is $100 more expensive than the AT&T version, while the $499 Lumia 950XL is no longer the flagship Windows phablet it was back in late 2015. As of today, the $470 Alcatel Idol 4S definitely appears as the Windows 10 Mobile flagship to purchase for enthusiasts: it has a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a 21MP low light camera and a fingerprint sensor. Even better, the bundle includes a VR headset to use with some built-in apps, a first for a Windows phone.

Do you think it’s still worth purchasing a high-end Lumia, or is the Alcatel Idol 4S now a more future-proof investment? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
