Microsoft unveiled today the Surface Book 2, the successor to the company’s “ultimate laptop” that will be available in 13.5” and new 15” models. It’s quite unusual for the Redmond giant to announce new Surface devices without a keynote from Corporate VP of devices Panos Panay, but the company published the following reveal video today and it’s a winner.
Microsoft says that it has improved the Dynamic Fulcrum Hinge on the Surface Book 2 for a more stable touch experience (the hinge on the first gen Surface Book was a bit wobbly in laptop mode), and the new models also come with improved PixelSense displays, speakers and backlit keyboard. The company also finally added one USB Type-C port on the base in addition to the two standard USB ports, making the Surface Book 2 the most versatile Surface device to this day.
The 13.5" and 15" Surface Book 2 will be available on November 16 with prices starting at $1.499, and it will be interesting to see if their much better specs will appeal to more Surface fans. Do you think Microsoft has finally delivered on its "ultimate laptop" promise? Let us know below.
