Star Wars: Battlefront II video game trailer leaked ahead of announcement
While a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront had been confirmed by EA a while ago, next to nothing had been known about the upcoming video game. That all changed today thanks to a leak of the game’s official announcement trailer which was presumably expected to premiere sometime during Star Wars Celebration, a special event for fans of the franchise which is happening this week.
The trailer, which has been embedded below, showcases a variety of characters and planets taken from all three Star Wars movie trilogies which is significantly different than the original game which limited itself to the events in Episodes IV though VI. Seen in the trailer are Darth Maul, Yoda, Rey, Kylo Ren, and what appears to be an original female character who could be the star of the game’s new solo-player campaign mode.
The trailer is made to promote the PlayStation 4 version but Star Wars Battlefront II is also expected to launch on Microsoft’s Xbox One. More information will be confirmed over the next few days as the official announcements are made.
