The Power BI team at Microsoft announced today that they received a special honor from the 2017 Esri Partner Conference (EPC) held last weekend in Palm Springs, CA. The event granted Power BI the New Techno9logy Integration award, celebrating the addition of ArcGIS in an innovative way.
The ArcGIS (geographic information system) makes it possible to analyse location data and apply it to your business/organizational needs, particularly when it comes to telling the story of demographic placement. After a year of partnership with ESri, Power BI first released a preview of the ArcGIS integration last year. It included open sourced APIs that let users customize their visuals, along with the full kit of data highlights, selections, cross-filtering, tooltips, and formatting settings that make the system a powerful tool for analytics.
“We’re pleased to recognize the achievements of the Power BI team for their innovative collaboration on ArcGIS Maps for Power BI. This is a real testament to how the ArcGIS platform can be leveraged beyond the traditional GIS community to empower business users with accurate and compelling organizational mapping technologies. This helps users make better decisions, faster.” – Art Haddad, Director, Location Analytics, Esri
The award from the EPC is a highlight towards the partnership between Esri and Microsoft, and is only more encouragement for Power BI to become a stronger force in analytics solutions.
