Minecraft’s Better Together Update begins rolling out on Xbox One, Windows 10, & Mobile

It looks as if the beta for Minecraft’s Better Together Update has no finished and the full, proper, public launch of the new unified Minecraft is ready to rollout.

According to Mojang’s Aubrey Norris, the update has already begun to roll out to Xbox One consoles and will continue in waves throughout the rest of the week while the Windows 10 and mobile versions will update tomorrow. The Nintendo Switch version will apparently update later in the year as Mojang is still testing this new version on that console.

After the update has been installed, all versions of the game will be renamed as simply, Minecraft (i.e. no Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition-type titles), and a load of new changes will be implemented. You can read a comprehensive of what will be new here. The biggest new feature will be the ability to play with other players on different platforms. As long as they’re running the latest version of the game that is.

Minecraft will be getting another big update later in the year with its Super Duper Graphics Pack which will add 4K graphics and higher resolution imagery (pictured above).
