Microsoft’s Shanghai announcements filtering in

Microsoft Surface Studio

Ok, this isn’t going well: Microsoft for whatever reason is in Shanghai to make some surface related announcements. Since their live blog is failing miserably so far, with not a single entry, and our previous attempt at peeking in on a Chinese live feed also failed (you can watch a working feed here, but it’s dubbed in Chinese and very hard to hear Panos and company). Anyway, here’s what we know so far (we’ll keep updating as news comes in):

Terry Myerson opened the event with some news about Microsoft’s Chinese government version of Windows 10.

Then the expected announcement of HoloLens coming to China was made:

Panos then announced that Surface Studio is coming to China. Surface Studio is available for pre order in China today, and available June 15th.

Surface Laptop is coming to China also. It’s also available for pre-order in China today, and also available June 15th.

Panos has just introduced the new Surface Pro. LTE, Surface Dial support, 4096 levels of pen sensitivity, 165 degree hinge. It’s the lightest Surface so far, and designed to “feel softer.” 12.3″ PixelSense Display, 3:2 aspect ratio, 267 Pixels Per Inch.

The new Surface Pro comes with a new, faster, more responsive Surface Pen.

1.7x faster than the iPad Pro.
