Microsoft has finally launched the official preview for the touch-first version of Office 2016. Word, PowerPoint and Excel are available to download right now from the Windows Store on Windows 10, and include a touch-first UI great for editing documents and presentations on the go. WinBeta was the first to exclusively showcase these touch apps on video, and you can check that out here.

“Today, we’re excited to announce that Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now available for technical preview on PCs, laptops and tablets running the Windows 10 Technical Preview! In the coming weeks, we’ll open up our preview for the same apps on phones and tablets running Windows 10,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Microsoft has already released Office Touch for iOS and Android, so it’s good to finally see the suite of apps arrive on the Redmond’s own operating system. As of right now, this suite of apps works great on Windows 10 desktop. The same set of apps will be compatible for phone and tablets at a later date. Keep in mind that these apps are universal, so once the testing phase is over, these same apps will work across PC, tablets, and phones.

“Microsoft Word is designed for touch and built for a small screen, so you can take your work on the go. Create and edit great looking documents. Read, review and mark up files. Share your work with others and collaborate. No keyboard or mouse required,” the touch-optimized Word app description states.

If you wish to give these new apps a go, check out the download links below (each app is less than 100MB in size). Let us know what you like and dislike about these three new apps in the comments section below! We’ve also embedded below a quick hands-on video for your viewing pleasure. Remember, you will need Windows 10 Technical Preview in order to download and install these apps.
