Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is now live on Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles

The HD remasters of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 have finally arrived on the Xbox One as a two-in-one title called Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.

This is the first time either game has appeared on an Xbox console, originally launching on Sony’s PlayStation 2 and PC. Each game has been given a full HD remaster for both their gameplay and cutscenes and a newly remixed audio track is available as well.

Here’s the official game description and trailer:

FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster brings the timeless classics forward to the current generation of fans, old and new alike. FINAL FANTASY X tells the story of a star blitzball player, Tidus, who journeys with a young and beautiful summoner named Yuna on her quest to save the world of Spira from an endless cycle of destruction wrought by the colossal menace Sin.

FINAL FANTASY X-2 returns to the world of Spira two years after the beginning of the Eternal Calm. Having been shown a mysterious but familiar image in a sphere, Yuna becomes a Sphere Hunter and along with her companions Rikku and Paine, embarks on a quest around the world to find the answers to the mystery within. Fully immerse yourself in the World of Spira as you enjoy over 100 combined hours of gameplay across the two classic titles.

The popular Final Fantasy franchise has experienced a bit of a resurgence on Xbox One recently with titles such as Final Fantasy VII coming to the console in March preceded by Final Fantasy XII in February and all three Final Fantasy XIII games in November of the previous year.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is also due to come out on Xbox One later this month.
