It’s no surprise that Xbox One X stole the show at E3 2017 a couple of weeks ago. After all, it was the only hardware being shown off and it had a slew of beautiful new titles that Microsoft plans to release with it later this year. One such was Anthem, the new open world third-person RPG title from Bioware. Even though its release date is still up in the air, the buzz around Anthem has already pushed Sony to take advantage of the hype.

What was an Xbox One X exclusive developer preview created for E3 2017 has now been edited by the competing publisher. Last week, Sony posted the ‘Anthem – Official Teaser Trailer’ for PlayStation 4 on their official YouTube (via Neowin).

But what fans found most curious about the repeated video is the evidence of editing. As spotted by Eurogamer, fans pointed out that the Xbox One controller buttons were actually edited over by the PlayStation buttons.

Xbox One X is reported to use the same checkerboarding techniques as Sony to run some of its games at 4K resolution. At least it was for the Anthem gameplay footage shown at E3. For Sony, that seems to be all it needs to know to pass edited Xbox One X gameplay as its own. We’d love to hear what you think!
