Scrollistic is a writing studio comprising a chapter-based word processor with powerful CSS formatting for writers and book authors. The app helps writers organize their writing with built-in features for automated e-publishing.
A streamlined word processor with spell checking and simple formatting, Scrollistic is built natively for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. It is a lightweight UWP app that is designed for authors of both print books and ones who want to publish ebooks.
The app is designed for story planning and for writing documents with chapters. There’s an option to set your target daily word count and get alerted when reached. The app also takes automatic backups and auto-saves your project to ensure you don’t lose your work. I would’ve liked if the project file was saved on OneDrive or something so that I can work on the same book from different machines, including my phone.
One of the main differences between Scrollistic and other writing software is that it generates lightweight HTML for formatting the document. The generated HTML is easily printed and also helpful for publishers who need to format and reformat the document.
Else, if you want to generate an ebook, the app packs in a completely automated process, including automatic live Table of Contents and best practice document structure. There’s also full integration with Kindlegen using OPF3 compliant document packaging and Kindle-friendly default CSS style.
Scrollistic is available for both Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices. It’s free, and while it’s ad-supported, these are non-intrusive. You can also import you existing documents in plain text, so if you’ve already been working on a book, you can give Scrollistic a whirl with the same.
