Microsoft explores cyber security at BlueHat event in Tel Aviv

Microsoft kicked off today its BlueHat IL event in Tel Aviv, the first edition of its cyber security event to be held outside of its Redmond, Washington headquarters. This first Isreali conference will once again feature some of the world’s top security industry professionnals including security researcher “The Grugq”, Director of Kaspersky Lab’s Global Research and Analysis Team Costin Raiu and Google Security Researcher Gal Beniamini.

In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, Merav Bahat, chief marketing officer and business strategy director at the Microsoft Israel R&D Center explained that the conference will also be an opportunity for the subsidiary to connect with the local ecosystem off startups, venture capital firms and academic institutions. “We are part of the ecosystem and also want to let them join and have fun and learn and be open and inclusive,” explained the exec. Outside of the discussions about current and future security challenges, attendees will also be able to get creative with the Microsoft Garage Israel team, which has set up a creativity hub in the Isreal R&D Center.
