Telegram Windows 10 Desktop App

The official Telegram app for Windows 10 devices, Telegram Desktop, updated this week to Version 1.7.

This latest update adds some more functionality to the main chat feature by adding an easier way to archive messages and better options for messages that have already been placed in the archive.

Here’s the full release notes:

  • Archive any chat from the right-click menu.
  • Chats with enabled notifications will pop out of the archive when a notification arrives.
  • Muted chats will stay in the archive.
  • Pin an unlimited number of chats in your archive.

“Introducing archived chats, the new tool for spring cleaning in your chat list. Sort your active and inactive chats, separate personal stuff from work or banish annoying contacts to your archive for some spectacular revenge!” a post on the official Telegram blog explains the new features. “Swipe left on a chat to transfer it to your archived chats folder. When an archived chat gets a notification, it will pop out of the folder and back into your chat list. Muted chats will stay archived forever. You can hide the archive by swiping left on it. See it again by dragging the screen down.”

Telegram is a communication app that prides itself on privacy and security and will be expanding in 2019 with its own blockchain and cryptocurrency.
