Microsoft updates iOS Mixer app with new features and improvements

Twitch, Mixer, Xbox apps on iOS / iPhone

The official Mixer app updated to Version 4.2.0 on Apple’s iOS devices today with a variety of new features and fixes. Among the more noteworthy changes are the new ability to change usernames from within the app, an improved emphasis on Ember chat messages, and better featured videos for Spanish and Portuguese speakers.

This update includes:

  • Video improvements
  • The ability to change username!
  • Pinning Ember messages on top of chat
  • Swipe to dismiss picture-in-picture
  • Landscape chat-only mode
  • Language-prioritised videos on the Home page for Spanish and Portuguese

As well as more minor bug fixes.

Mixer is Microsoft’s video game streaming service that works in much the same way as Amazon’s Twitch and Google’s YouTube. Official Mixer apps are available on iOS, Android, and Xbox One.
