Microsoft is working on a new feature which will allow presenters to lock on an individual video feed for all meeting participants in Microsoft Teams. According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap document, the feature is timed for a rollout beginning in September.

We are delivering the ability for presenters to lock on an individual video feed for all attendees to see during a Teams meeting. Once selected, the individual identified as the spotlight will be the main video shown to all participants. This applies to PC, Mac, mobile, and Microsoft Teams room systems.?

Indeed, this is one of the much-anticipated features, and it will come at a time when hundreds of organizations are currently relaying on Microsoft Teams for remote collaborations. The feature will make it easier for meeting attendees to focus on a specific person’s video who is currently talking.

In addition, a new Teams meeting pre-join experience is another new functionality coming to Microsoft Teams very soon. The improved experience will make it a bit easier for users to discover audio/video/device selection configurations before joining a Teams meeting.

Microsoft Teams has seen increased usage in recent months, and it’s good to see Microsoft focused on improving the meeting experience. Do you think that these features will help to reduce your meeting fatigue? Sound off in the comments section below.
