Microsoft sells out of Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 just a week after launch event

Just a week ago, Microsoft wowed us with an impressive hardware showcase at its October 6th event. Among the devices we were anticipating (the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, and the Surface Pro 4), Microsoft was able to slip in a surprise. The un-leaked Surface Book certainly stole the show during the press conference as Microsoft pushed this device as the best laptop ever created. A very boastful remark, albeit, according to press coverage Microsoft seems to be on to something.
We recently posted that PC manufacturers may be scared of Microsoft’s Surface Book, and it appears their fears may be justified. Thanks to our tipsters, it looks as though Microsoft has already sold out of each Surface Book model. If you attempt to pre-order the Surface Book now, you will be met with an “email me when available” message. The same goes for each model of the Surface Pro 4.
Although we knew the Surface Pro 4 would be a hit, as the Surface Pro 3 has been very profitable for Microsoft, it is a pleasant surprise to see such high demand for the Surface Book. As this notebook is set to go up against the likes of Apple’s Mac Book Pro, it seems consumers are convinced it could be the best laptop they have ever owned.
What do you think about the Surface Book and were you able to pre-order your next Surface? Let us know in the comments below.
Thanks Matthew L for the tip!
Update: Looks like the online Microsoft Store may be glitching out — we’re starting to see all but one of the Surface Pro 4 models available. The Surface Book is still sold out.
