As we documented this past weekend, many owners of the Microsoft Band 2 have been complaining of problems with syncing their Microsoft fitness wearable with the Microsoft Health servers. Well, after more than a week of silence, Microsoft has finally broken silence, and according to a statement, is planning to rolling out a fix which should fix the syncing service soon (via ZDNet.)
The statement comes after head of the Windows Insider Program, Dona Sarkar responded to user complaints, saying that the company was investigating the syncing issues. Here is the company’s full statement:
“We believe we have identified the root cause facing some Microsoft Band 2 customers who cannot connect to the service. We are actively deploying a fix now. This will not require action on behalf of the affected customers. We will continue to update customers as we know more. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this. Thank you.”
Although Microsoft stopped selling the Band 2 back in 2016, owners who still hold true to the Microsoft wearable have been able to sync their Band with no issues up until this past week. Without the syncing capabilities, the Band is not very useful, as owners will not be able to analyze their sleep, step, and other fitness data via the Microsoft Band app.
