In a big surprise to gamers, earlier today it was announced that the main protagonist of Avengers Infinity War, Thanos, would be appearing in the hit video game, Fortnite, in its popular Battle Royale mode.

“The “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode for Battle Royale will feel just like a standard slugfest — with one major difference: One hundred players will descend upon the map and fight until one player is left standing, as usual, but this time you’ll do so with the Infinity Gauntlet in play,” the official announcement via EW says. “The artifact containing all six Infinity Stones — the same one Thanos used to cripple Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen — will appear on the map. Whomsoever finds and equips it will transform into Thanos himself, wielding all the power that comes with him.”

This special event is now live in Fortnite on Xbox One consoles and the game itself is free-to-play so if you’re a fan of the Avengers or just loved Infinity War, you may as well give the game a go and see what all of the buzz is about. It’s unclear when the Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup event will end.
