Microsoft has made available the Xbox SmartGlass app for Android. Xbox SmartGlass is a free downloadable app that works on Windows 8, Windows RT, Apple’s iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, and now the Kindle Fire and Kindle HD. It allows you to convert your mobile device into a smart second screen for entertainment.

Now available for the Kindle HD and Kindle Fire, users who own an Xbox and wish to have its Xbox Smartglass companion app with them can now do so. Xbox SmartGlass lets you use your Kindle as a means to interact with your Xbox 360 console to bring rich, interactive experiences, and unique content about what you’re watching or playing, right to the Kindle device that’s already in your hand.

“Interact with your favorite TV shows, movies, music, sports, and games, and bring remote control to a whole new level. You can also connect with your Xbox friends, track and compare your achievements, and change up your 3D avatar,” the app description reads.

For those that did not know, Kindle runs a forked version of Google’s Android operating system. The app is free and available now for download. Hit the source link to snag the Xbox Smartglass app for Kindle.
