Mike Ybarra announced on Twitter that we will see a “minor update” coming to Xbox One in the next week or so. Although no new features are planned, the update is likely prepping the Xbox One for the big Windows 10 Anniversary Update scheduled for sometime this summer.

Now that Microsoft stopped manufacturing Xbox 360s, the company can focus all its energy into making Xbox One into a better console than PS4. Previously, Microsoft announced that no new features would be coming to Xbox One until May or June 2016 for Xbox One Preview Program members.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is supposedly bringing Universal Windows 10 apps to Xbox One, in addition to other key gaming features. At the very least, this upcoming Xbox One update will likely squash some bugs and improve performance issues experienced on Xbox Live.

Through Ybarra’s Twitter post, users are complaining about issues with Xbox Live that appear nightly; matchmaking glitches, friends lists problems, slow game DVR, and other game server problems. Here’s hoping this “minor update” will get rid of the bugs that are plaguing Xbox Live as of late.
