While everyone eagerly awaits for Windows Blue, an update for Windows 8 and Windows RT, as well as the upcoming next-gen Xbox reveal, Microsoft is working on an update for Xbox 360 owners. Microsoft is working on an update for the Xbox 360 dashboard that brings forth a refreshed user interface.

According to a new report, Microsoft is looking to roll out an update for the Xbox 360 dashboard, which will offer a “refreshed user interface” as well as smaller Live Tiles. This is similar to what Windows 8.1 (Windows Blue) is set to do for Windows 8. Microsoft is also rumored to be tweaking the look of the dashboard with darker or lighter themes.

The new dashboard update will ensure that Xbox 360 users can “interact” with those who are on the new console, via messaging, beacons, and achievements. Microsoft is hoping for a smooth transition for those who wish to move over to the new console.

This dashboard update is set for a public beta in late June or early July, according to the report. Microsoft is preparing this update along with the upcoming next-generation Xbox console, which is set for its big reveal on May 21st.
