Microsoft has released new builds for the Canary Channel (25977) and the Dev Channel (23570, more in a separate post) for Windows 11 Insiders today. This new Canary Channel build includes three new features:

Support for Bluetooth LE hearing aids

Build 25977 takes a “significant step forward” in accessibility by adding support for hearing aids using Bluetooth LE (low energy audio). This support, coming to devices that support Bluetooth LE, is the first step in adding support for more hearing aids experiences, “such as controlling audio presets directly within Windows settings.”

Windows Location improvements

We’re adding new controls to help you manage which apps have access to the list of Wi-Fi networks around you, which could be used to determine your location.  You can view and modify which apps can access the list of Wi-Fi networks by navigating to Settings > Privacy & security > Location.

Client Access control using SMB over QUIC

Windows now supports additional access control options to the TCP network transport alternative, SMB over QUIC.

In addition, Mail and Calendar apps, which are being replaced by the new Outlook, will no longer be installed if you do a clean install of 25977 and above, for example by using the ISOs provided for this build. Mail and Calendar will not be removed if you do an upgrade install from a previous build with the apps already installed.

The former Xbox Game Bar is now being called just Game Bar in the Start Menu and in System Components.

A QR code is being added for your Wi-Fi password under Wi-Fi properties, so that you can more easily share your Wi-Fi password.

As usual, there are more fixes and known issues for Canary Channel build 25977, be sure to check out the blog post for all the details.
