The official Windows 10 Slack app has just updated to Version 2.8.1 which is more of a refinement of the previous 2.8.0 update than a major one with significant changes. This update is quite important though as it fixes the input for Japanese which was completely broken in the previous update and also added some extra security to help keep data safe. Here’s the full release notes:

Previously in Slack app releases: we fixed the Japanese input in 2.6.3. Then we re-broke it in 2.8.0. And now it’s fixed again. Stay tuned for the next thrilling instalment.

Added bonus: An Electron update improving security. A precautionary measure, but it’s always good to be up to date.
