Windows 10 Mobile build 15254.248 is out with a fix for unresponsive touch screens

Microsoft’s monthly Patch Tuesday updates usually roll out to both Windows 10 PCs and phones at the same time, but the company apparently made an exception yesterday. Indeed, this month’s Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 10 Mobile have just started to roll out, and if you’re running the Fall Creators Update for Mobile then you should receive the build 15254.248 today.

This new cumulative update fixes an issue where the touch screen would remain unresponsive at startup, forcing users to either turn the screen off an on or restart the phone. Additionally, Microsoft notes that this update includes all the quality and security improvements from the build 15063.909, which is the latest cumulative update for the Windows 10 Creators Update.

The Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update (aka the “feature2” branch) will be supported by Microsoft through December 2019, and the mobile OS should keep receiving cumulative updates until that date. If you previously encountered issues with touch screen responsiveness on your phone, let us know in the comments if this latest update finally fixed the problem.
