Windows 10 build 10134: You can now stop Insider builds, enable new features

Windows Insiders will soon be able to disable Insider builds and enable additional features which aren’t enabled by default via the Settings app in Windows 10. Build 10134, which leaked earlier today (and is an unofficial build) includes this new functionality, however some of it doesn’t appear to work yet.

The UI for disabling new preview builds has been there for a while now, however in build 10134 the option is finally ready to go, meaning if you really want, you can stop receiving new Insider builds and stay put on the build you’re currently running. This isn’t a good idea however, as Insider builds have an expiry date.

Another new addition in the Settings app is a new option to “Let Microsoft try new features on this build”. What this option does is enable additional features which aren’t enabled by default for users to try. How it works is unknown at this time, as we’ve not noticed anything different once flipping the switch. Perhaps this is how Microsoft is going to test unready features in builds without needing to drop an entire new build on Insiders?

Considering this build is a winmain_prs build, we may not even see this option in the upcoming official builds. We’ll have to wait and see. What are your thoughts on these new changes? Let us know below.
