Visio August 2016 update includes enhanced AutoCAD support, one-step data link, and more

Microsoft’s diagramming and vector graphics application Visio has received several updates lately as preview versions of Visio Online and Visio for iPad now make it possible to access Visio content on more platforms. That’s not all though as Visio Pro for Office 365 is also getting updated with enhanced AutoCAD support, one-step data linking to diagrams and more.

Here are the new features available for Office 365 customers:

  • The improved AutoCAD import allows architects, engineers and the operations team to work together on advanced design originating from AutoCAD 2013 files.
  • With one-step data linking, end users and IT professionals can quickly bring their diagrams to life. This helps make sure data-linked diagrams are always up-to-date.
  • Teams can also use Office 365 collaboration features and tools, such as inking and Skype for Business.

In the following video, Microsoft’s Senior Product manager Stella Lin offers a detailed tour of the latest Visio updates:

You can give feedback on these features as well as vote for new features on the dedicated Uservoice website. Let us know in the comments if these new capabilities in Visio Pro for Office 365 make it a better solution to simplify and communicate complex information.
