Twitter PWA app comes to Windows 10 Mobile, a platform that doesn’t fully support PWAs

The Twitter UWP app is apparently dead for good as the new Twitter PWA has started to roll out to Windows 10 Mobile users today. While the Twitter PWA was quite an improvement on Windows 10 PCs, this isn’t exactly the case on Windows phones as Windows 10 Mobile doesn’t fully support PWAs.

In some ways, the Twitter PWA on Windows 10 Mobile seem to be a downgrade as it lacks a dark theme option, a Live Tile and push notification support, and all these features used to be present in the previous UWP version. However, the PWA brings support for 280-character tweets, probably a sad consolation for Windows 10 Mobile users.

The Twitter PWA requires the Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update (build 15063) or newer, and you can download it today from the Microsoft Store. If you really care about getting these push notifications though, you may want to think about it twice before tapping that update button. (via Windows Central)
