Microsoft is set to release an update for Windows 11 on September 26, 2023. This update includes security enhancements to make Windows 11 more personal and intelligent.

They say that passwords are a common entry point for cyberattacks, and Microsoft emphasizes the importance of passwordless options. Windows 11 will introduce Windows Hello for Business, a more secure login option that eliminates the need for passwords.

Windows Hello for Business is a two-factor authentication solution that eliminates passwords and uses biometric or PIN-based authentication on Windows devices. It combines biometric authentication methods like facial recognition or fingerprint scanning with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to provide an extra layer of security and safeguard user credentials.

Passkeys are introduced as a cross-platform, cross-ecosystem way to access websites and applications. After creating a passkey with Windows Hello, users can access various services using their face, fingerprint, or device PIN. This feature aims to enhance security and convenience.

Moreover, The latest Windows 11 update will include new security tools for IT teams. This includes Custom App Control for Business policies with Microsoft Intune to control and secure applications and Config Refresh to protect against unwanted configuration changes.

They also enhance security for Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Basic subscribers. This includes credit monitoring and privacy protection in Microsoft Defender for individuals.

Microsoft acknowledges that while employees are eager to use AI in the workplace, leaders have concerns about the associated risks. They aim to provide safe and secure AI solutions for enterprise customers.
