The Skype team has taken to the Skype blog to announce that Skype Translator now has support for the Russian language. This support now means that eight other spoken languages are now a part of skype translations, including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Arabic.

According to the Skype team, Russian has long been requested to be included in in Skype Translator’s audio language portfolio, so the support is an exciting moment for those who speak the eighth most popular language in the world. Skype Translator, nonetheless, is built on machine learning technology, and allow Skype users to communicate each other in real time. Essentially, the more the translation service is used, the higher the quality of the translations.

If the Russian translations in Skype Translator interest you, all you need to do is to click the globe icon in the Windows Desktop Skype and turn translator preview to on.  Once you’ve tried it out, let us know how the experience is going for you by dropping us a comment in the section below!
