The Skype team today announced the addition of Star Wars: The Last Jedi face masks and emoticons to the Skype experience. There are ten new Skype emoticons based on characters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi and a new Storm Tropper Star Wars mask feature for the highlights feature on Skype for mobile devices.

The collection of ten new Star Wars emoticons can be found starting today by going to your emoticons picker and choosing a favorite character or icon. Characters include BB-8, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, and a porg.  See some of the emoticons below.

New emoticons are routine, so the most interesting of the two new features is masks for Skype on Mobile. Similar to Snapchat, you can now add a virtual mask to your face, although the Skype team is describing it as “face effects for your photos or videos that help you dress up any ordinary selfie.”

To use this feature, you must tap Capture. Next, tap the mask icon at the top of your screen, scroll through the mask options at the bottom of the screen, and select your favorite. You can then post it to your Highlights and share it with your friends.

As always, you should make sure you’re running the latest versions of Skype, to ensure you’re seeing both of these new features. They’re slowly rolling out today, so not everyone will see it at first. If you so happen to have these features  let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
