Signing in to Xbox Live is currently down again

Microsoft’s Xbox Live network is having another rough day today. Just a day after a major Xbox Live outage prevented Xbox One owners to sign in to their console, the Xbox team has just acknowledged that Xbox Live is down again today.

The good news is that the Xbox team is actively working on identifying the cause for this issue, and hopefully this will be fixed pretty soon. The timing is actually pretty bad, as Microsoft also announced yesterday that Xbox Live multiplayer would be free for everyone on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this weekend.

Microsoft said during its FY19 Q2 Earnings that Xbox Live monthly active users have increased from 57 million in the previous quarter to 64 million in Q2, which is a new milestone for the company. It’s really critical for Microsoft to make its Xbox Live network as robust as possible, and having two major outages in a single isn’t really a good look for the company. We hope that Xbox Live will soon be back up and running, but in the meantime we invite you to check this page for service updates.
