Remastered Gears of War 3 for Xbox One details leaked, August 25th release date

Back in April of this year, we learned that Gears of War (GoW) would be headed to the Xbox One at some point. This was merely a rumor back in April. Details of the game have begun to leak on the eve of E3 and Microsoft’s big E3 Xbox Briefing.

“The plot of Gears of War is set in the midst of a desperate struggle of humanity with a horde of locusts – the nightmarish creatures to the surface from the bowels of the planet. Players will be able to feel yourself in the place of Marcus Fenix. Deprived of former honors war hero Marcus longs to redeem, commanding his troops in hot Svatko with fierce enemies from the depths of the planet,” the game’s leaked description reads.

According to the leaked details, which come directly from the Gears of War official website (oops!), the game is slated for release on August 25th. Interestingly enough, the game has been remastered to support Dolby 7.1 surround, 90 minutes of new content for the campaign mode, new achievements in Xbox Live, and much more. These details have since been pulled from the official Russian website (translated below).

You can check out the leaked info at Neogaf. If this is true, Microsoft will be unveiling this remastered game during the E3 Xbox Briefing on Monday, June 15th.
