An update for the Windows 10 Mail app has begun to rollout for Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring. This new update adds several new features to the Mail experience such as interactive notifications which now allow for users to archive, delete, flag, mark, and move and email directly from its notification. Users can also @ mention other users directly from within the app now which could be a very useful function once users get used to it.
Another new feature that was added is the ability to pop-out an email during the composing phase in a similar fashion to what Gmail does in its web browser interface. This isn’t the first time this feature has been trialled with Windows Insiders so its return could hint that Microsoft has worked out most of its bugs.
A reminder that these features are only currently available to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring. They will likely roll out to all Insiders over the following months before going live with the general public population of Windows 10 users once all the kinks are worked out.
