ReCore Definitive Edition launched today on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Xbox Game Pass, for the price of $19.99. Some eagle-eyed gamers on Reddit, though, have noticed that the action-adventure platform video game is actually now free on the Xbox and Windows Store.

It is not exactly clear why this is the case, but the store listing has an “Install” button available for all to click without actually buying the game. Redditors in the thread have confirmed that pressing this button will download the full game, with no in-game prompts coming up about a game trial. We also checked on our Windows 10 PC, and we are seeing the same Install button which let us download the game for free to out PC from the Windows Store.

Update: It looks like this was a bug. Microsoft has fixed the issue where the game could be downloaded for free. The game can no longer boot after we downloaded it earlier and throws us a 0x803f8003 error code. The “Install” button has also disappeared from the store listing on both Windows and Xbox

It’s best to take advantage of this situation while it lasts, as Microsoft might end up fixing this bug soon by patching the game. For now, you can find ReCore in the Xbox and Windows 10 Store by visiting the link below.
