OneDrive for Android updated with fingerprint protection, new grid view for photos

| |

If you're sporting the OneDrive app on Android, it is time to head to the Google Play Store for an update. Indeed, Microsoft has just refreshed the app with a new fingerprint protection feature, and a new grid view for photos (via MSPoweruser.)

These latest new features can be found in version 5.14 of OneDrive on Android. To use the fingerprint protection feature, you'll first need to head into settings and enable a passcode for whenever the OneDrive app is opened on your device. You can then toggle the switch for "Use fingerprint to authenticate" to use your finger instead of your passcode. Fnally, to see the new grid view for photos, just tap on the Photos tab and enjoy. See these in action below.

Users of OneDrive on iOS also are seeing a version 10.25 update today, but it brings new features aimed at Business users. These users can now view and interact with 3D files right in the app. Everyone else should be seeing bug fixes for the issue where PDFs weren't fillable once out of the app, and for where certain photos would cause the app to crash.

If you've not already updated, you can find the update for OneDrive on Android or iOS by heading to the link below. Once you're up and running with the latest versions let us know how the experience is going for you by dropping us a line in the comments.
