Office 365 Home vs Personal: Microsoft shows you which option is best for you (video)

Office 365, as most of you already know, is a subscription based productivity suite that offers access to various Microsoft services and software. Launched nearly two years ago, Microsoft has provided regular updates as well as improvements to the cloud productivity suite.

Aimed at mainstream consumers as well as families, Microsoft currently offers an Office 365 Home option, formerly known as Home Premium, that runs for $9.99 a month. Office 365 Home offers access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access, as well as 20GB of OneDrive storage. You also get sixty Skype world minutes of calling per month to over sixty countries. These Office apps can be installed on up to five PCs or Macs, and five tablets.

Office 365 Personal, which is relatively a newer option, offers access to the same apps and storage space as Office 365 Home, except you can only install it on one PC or Mac, and one tablet or iPad. This package is a tad bit cheaper at $6.99 a month.

Microsoft offers a few other advanced packages of Office 365 aimed at businesses which include Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync, but we won’t go into that. If you are looking to jump on board the Office 365 subscription bandwagon (monthly or yearly pricing options are available) to get access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and all the popular Office apps for you or your family members, you really only have to pick between Office 365 Home and Office 365 Personal.

Microsoft has uploaded two new videos showcasing the features of both packages which should help you make your decision. Watch it below.
