Here’s some fun trivia for all you Windows Phone lovers out there, did you know Nokia decided on the Lumia brand name in just one day? Nokia actually struggled to decide on the name of its new smartphone brand, powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, back in 2011.

“We almost fell into the trap that had often befallen Nokia, which was… let them work on it a bit longer because we couldn’t quite reach agreement. Why wait till tomorrow or next week? We could make the decision today. And we did,” Nokia CEO Steven Elop stated in a recent interview. The end result of that decision was the Lumia brand being born.

Elop apparently shifted the company into thinking faster, making faster decisions, and even speeding up the development of new handsets. “A number of our Windows Phone products are on six to eight month delivery cycles. We are moving so much faster,” Elop added.

At this point in time, Nokia has its basic Lumia 520 and Lumia 521 models, followed by the higher end Lumia 920, Lumia 925, and 928 models. Nokia is launching its flagship Lumia 1020 on July 26th and is dubbed as one of the most advanced Lumia smartphones ever.
