New firmware updates are rolling out for Windows Insiders with Surface Pro, Laptop, and Book 2 devices

Microsoft has started to roll out new firmware updates to Windows Insiders with Surface Pro, Surface Laptop and Surface Book 2 devices running Windows 10 Redstone 4 builds. Unfortunately, it’s not immediately clear what’s new as Microsoft has yet to share details about the updates on its Support website.

According to Windows Central, Windows Insiders with Surface Laptops should be able to download an update labeled “Surface -Firmware – 2/28/2018” in Windows Update. For some reason, this is the same date as the February 2018 update indicated on the Surface Laptop update history page, but the version number for the new firmware (135.2139.257.0) is actually different.

If you have a 2017 Surface Pro or a Surface Book on the latest RS4 builds, let us know in the comments if you’re also seeing these new firmware updates today. It’s not the first time that Microsoft is a bit late to publish full release notes, but we’ll let you once they’re finally online
