Netflix app for mobile pulled from Windows Store, desktop UWP app remains

Popular media streaming service Netflix looks to have removed its app from the Windows Store, though it’s not clear if all devices and countries are currently affected (via Windows Central). In the US, we are no longer seeing the Netflix app in the Windows Store from a Windows 10 Mobile phone, though the UWP Netflix app for Windows PCs which was released back in December is still available to download as of now. Moreover, we can still see the app in the Windows Store from a Windows Phone 8.1 phone or from a Windows 10 Mobile with a European Microsoft account.

The app is still available on Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile phones outside of the US.

It’s not clear why the app is no longer available to download for Windows 10 Mobile phones in the US. According to the Store listing on a Windows Phone 8.1 phone, the app has been updated today to version 4.10.0.49 and it now sports the new Netflix logo that the company unveiled a few weeks ago. Of course, if you already downloaded the app it will still continue to work on your device. Let us know in the comments if you also spotted that the Netflix app is no longer available to download on your Windows phone.
