Although Titanfall 3 appeared to have been pushed to the side to make way for Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale game set within the Titanfall universe, Respawn Entertainment’s CEO, Vince Zampella, tweeted today from his personal account that there are indeed still plans for some sort of Titanfall content later in the year.
“Tons of things planned for @PlayApex in the future. We are also committed to listening to player feedback,” he said in the tweet. “We are also working on more Titanfall for later in the year (yes, I said the T word). We love being able to experiment in this crazy universe!”

While very much in the Titanfall world, Apex Legends doesn’t use the Titanfall brand name nor does it feature any of the actual titan mechs from the main series. The mention of “more Titanfall” in the tweet likely suggests that another game focusing on the mechs is in the works. Whether that means they’ll simply be coming to Apex Legends or getting their own game remains to be seen. It’s also unclear if there will ever be a Titanfall 3 at this point.
During today’s EA financial results call, this future Titanfall project was referred to as “premium” which suggests that it should be a substantial release whatever it is. While not confirmed, it’s also incredibly likely that the game will launch on Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles in addition to the PS4 and PC.
