Microsoft’s Satya Nadella talks about environmental sustainability

The environment is a hot topic these days, given all of the talk about carbon and climate change. To deal with all of this, an organization called Business Roundtable exists, with the goal looking at how 150 of the biggest US companies are doing in this area. The 2014 report was just released, and it includes a letter from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

According the Microsoft’s Josh Hentrig, “the key theme of this year’s annual report is that companies have contributed to the extraordinary sustainability success of the U.S. economy in recent years”.

Nadella’s letter looks at how Microsoft is continuing its efforts at environmental sustainability focusing on the software giant’s commitment to buy wind energy over the next 20 years, as well as its research into more efficient data centers. “Our approach helps us prioritize the purchase of renewable energy and drives our investment in alternative energy creation technologies”, Nadella writes.

Microsoft Research is continuing move forward with these efforts. You can read the entire report, as well as Nadella’s letter by following the links below.
