Microsoft’s Alex Kipman highlights new Windows Mixed Reality and HoloLens features

The Windows 10 April 2018 Update introduced many new experiences, and Windows Mixed Reality also got in with the action. That’s why in a new video, Microsoft’s Alex Kipman highlights all the new features users can expect with Windows Mixed Reality and HoloLens after installing the latest version of Windows 10.

With HoloLens, Enterprise users are picking up features like a new research mode, and more ways to manage the device. Then, with Windows Mixed Reality, there is now a new Skyloft environment. You can see the list below for a detailed look at some of the key features mentioned in this video.

  • You can now have multiple logins for the same HoloLens device
  • HoloLens now supports Media Transport Protocol support, allowing you to transfer files to and from the device
  • Improved MDM features to make HoloLens devices easier to configure and manage
  • A new “Research Mode” in HoloLens which helps companies access more raw data when building apps
  • Streamlined interactions for immersice and holographic experiences, making it simpler to place and size objects
  • Protocol support to make it easier to share 3D objects from a website on HoloLens
  • New APIs for HoloLens to let 3D Launchers animate as users approach or gaze at objects
  • Early preview of support for user generated environments in Windows Mixed Reality.
