Google previously announced that users of G Suite Legacy Free Edition would need to upgrade to a paid Google Workspace subscription by May 2022, and Microsoft now has a response. The company has a special offer for these worried users, and it’s a very enticing 60 percent discount on a 12-month Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard, or Business Premium subscription.

In the announcement post addressed to businesses using Google’s legacy G Suite, Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365 mentions that Microsoft “couldn’t help but notice you might be in the market for a new solution” and has good news. The CVP then detailed the benefits of Microsoft 365, including access to Microsoft Teams, and one year of free support with Business Assist. He even dived into how easy it is to switch, pointing to a Microsoft website that potential customers can visit.

Microsoft 365, and Teams, remains a big thing for Microsoft and this is just the latest push from Microsoft to get more businesses on board. Previously, Microsoft launched a new device trade-in program that enticed enterprises to switch to Teams by paying them for the old conferencing equipment.
