Microsoft Rewards app for Xbox One is now generally available

This month, Microsoft finally deprecated the Xbox Live Rewards program to replace it with Microsoft Rewards. On this occasion, the company has released a dedicated Microsoft Rewards app on Xbox One, which is now generally available after some testing with Xbox Insiders.

You can use the app to check your points and redeem some prizes, but its main purpose of the app seems to be the exclusive offers for Xbox One owners: as of this writing, you can earn 50,000 Microsoft Rewards points if you purchase an Xbox One X from the app, 28,000 points for an Xbox One S, or up to 6,000 points if you buy select games including Far Cry 5, Resident Evil 7: biohazard or Minecraft.

You may want to check out this app quite regularly if you don’t want to miss good opportunities to earn some extra points. Do you think this app is a good replacement for the Xbox Live Rewards program, or do you think the latter was more valuable? Sound off in the comments below.
