Last year, Microsoft expanded Viva Goals with new apps and services to mitigate some issues. The company further highlighted that the tools were designed to help boost morale and ultimately enhance the employee performance index. Some of the applications that debuted included Viva Amplify and Viva Pulse.

And now, Microsoft has announced that Viva Pulse is now shipping to public preview. For those not conversant with the application, it’s designed to enhance communication between managers and team leads. It uses both smart templates and research-backed questions to help businesses identify their strengths and weaknesses. In turn, they will get recommendations on how to address the issues.

According to Microsoft:

With Viva Pulse, managers and project leads can request ad-hoc feedback on topics to better understand their team’s needs and address them in the moment. Pre-populated, research-validated survey templates help zero in on important topics such as change management or work situations. Managers and leads can also customize templates to meet their unique team needs.

Additionally, users will be able to leverage the tool’s capabilities to provide team leaders and managers with swift responses highlighting their sentiments on certain matters, This will, in turn, help with the decision-making process and ultimately play a major role in determining the success of the project. “Survey senders can leverage automatic sentiment analysis which saves time and helps them focus on areas of opportunity for the team. To ensure employee confidentiality, managers and project leads receive an aggregated view of survey results,” says Microsoft in the blog post.

Once the feedback is given to the team leader, Viva Pulse will also suggest the next steps that should be followed based on the feedback results. This way, employees will get a sense of belonging and that the issues they raised are being heard. Microsoft is set to ship VIva Pulse to general availability next month.
