Powertoys

Microsoft PowerToys are a set of utilities for power users to tune and streamline their Windows experience for greater productivity. Inspired by the Windows 95 era PowerToys project, this reboot provides power users with ways to squeeze more efficiency out of the Windows and customize it for individual workflows.

Powertoys 0.55.2 is now available. Microsoft made the release in an attempt to resolve issues that came from the 0.55.1 version of the app was released. Aside from the previous patch fix, there’s no notable change that has been made on the application.

Here is the current improvement that users will get with the new version:

This is a patch release to fix issues in v0.55.1 due to an installer bug and .NET 5 doing an update for the runtime. We deemed important for stability based on incoming rates. See v0.55.0 for full release notes.
#16203 – Installer didn’t handle when a newer version was released for .NET 5

The 0.55.1 release was in place to serve power users looking to customize their Windows devices. Also, was also in place to address the stability. It was also impossible for users to updater older plugins properly. It also introduced some features like the Color Picker, Image Resizer, FancyZones, and PowerToys Run.  Not forgetting, 0.55.0’s mouse utility feature. The new version is available for download from GitHub and the Microsoft Store.
