Is Microsoft planning to open a new retail store in Brazil?

Just recently, we learned that a new flagship Microsoft Store would be opening outside North America, in the land down under. This new Microsoft Store will open in Sydney, Australia, and will be located within the popular Westfield shopping centre in Pitt Street Mall and promises to give local consumers a chance to experience the entire range of Microsoft’s products.

Now, new images have surfaced online (photos were snapped by a man who was shopping at the mall) showcasing what appears to be an advertisement for an upcoming Microsoft Store in Brazil. Located in the Mall Eldorado in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, is an old Nokia store that has been closed for renovations. Outside the store is an advertisement (see image above) which roughly translates to “Surprise yourself with a new Microsoft Store.”

Is this a new Microsoft Store in the works? There are no details at this time, but it wouldn’t be surprising. So far, Microsoft has an armada of retail stores in North America, so it makes sense for the Redmond giant to start looking at other areas of the world. We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
